Everyman Theatre Celebrates the Lighting of its Marquee

From a burlesque house, to a movie theater, to a parking garage and now home to a brand new, state-of-the-art theater, the Everyman Theatre celebrated last night the lighting of its new marquee. The 300 block of West Fayette Street will now forever be changed with the huge sign stating simply "Everyman".
Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi was all smiles as he pulled the switch that revealed the beautiful new sign to let the world know of the location of the 22-year old professional theatre company. Also beaming wase Ian Tresselt, the Managing Director.
Actress Megan Anderson, a member of the Everyman Resident Acting Company, her husband Kyle Prue and family joined the Everyman staff, Board members, and members from the historic Hippodrome Theatre, located across the street to take part in the historic event.
After the lighting and the telvision interviews from WBAL and Fox-45, Lancisi led an impromptu tour of the beautiful new theater space. He also added that there will be a food truck in front of the theatre for patrons to purchase lunch or dinner to be eaten at tables set up in the theatre's second floor mezzanine. It was also revealed that those famous Faidley's crab cakes from Lexington Market may be available for purchase.
The theatre will officially open its doors in January with the Baltimore premiere of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. The Grand Opening celebration will be from January 14th through January 20, 2013.
Everyman Theatre was founded in 1990 and has called Charles Street its home for 18 years. Before that, the company performed in various locations throughout Baltimore. The company produces six productions every season and has over 4600 suscribers.
And speaking of the Charles Street location, on Saturday, December 8, 2012,the public is invited to a "Wrap Party" to say good-bye to its home of 18 years. The open-house-style party will last from 2 to 5 p.m. The theatre will be decorated with photos and memorabilia from the theatre's 22 year history. Light hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be available for guests as they mingle with staff and resident company members.
