Substitute Magic Assistant (Off Broadway)



Stalker, an innovative 90-minute magic show by Swedish duo Peter Brynolf and Jonas Ljung, directed by Eurovision mastermind Edward Af Sillén is premiering Off-Broadway this Spring at New World Stages. Fast-paced street magic, physical mentalism, and social hacking combine with live cameras and audience participation to lead to a climactic plot twist that you’ll never see coming.



The Production is seeking a Substitute Magic Assistants to fill in as needed over the course of the Production’s Run. As a substitute Magic Assistant, your responsibilities will center around training on the tracks with the run crew, interacting with the audience and facilitating participation throughout the show, preparing and executing technical elements backstage including rigging, and general stagehand duties such as sweeping, presets, and prop maintenance.



Working closely with our Magician Duo, you’ll play a crucial part in the success of the magic. If you are interested in illusion work, possess a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn, are able to respond quickly to directions and problem solve on your feet, and have a deep passion for maintaining the highest standards in theatrical production, we encourage you to apply.





Key Dates: *All dates are subject to change.



Training: March 27 - March 31, 2024 and/or April 3 - 7th

First covered Performance: April 8th, 2024



Production Run - April 1 - September 1, 2024



Salary:

$150.00 per training shift and worked performances

⎼ Ability to quickly troubleshoot prop and technical issues mid-performance

⎼ Meticulous attention to detail for achieving the desired effect of magic tricks and willingness to receive and implement constructive feedback
