DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are presenting SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, at the San Diego Civic Theatre through Sunday, July 10, 2011. Performances began July 5.

Opening July 14 for a limited two week run is David Lindsay-Abaire's 2007 Pulitzer Prize Winner Rabbit Hole directed for the stage by George W. Manus, Jr. Rabbit Hole runs Thursdays-Sundays at 7:30pm, July 14-24. Tickets are $10. general admission or $5. students/seniors www.outfrontonmain.com

The Kleban Foundation awarded the 21st Annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has gone to Adam Gwon and the award for the most promising musical theatre librettist has gone to Michelle Elliott. The 2011 awards were presented on June 27, 2011, in a private ceremony at ASCAP. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the evening and brings you the performances below!

The 2011 Tony Award nominees were announced live from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in New York City on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. The next day, proud nominees gathered at the Millenium Hotel in Times Square to celebrate and meet the press. Broadway Beat was on hand, of course, to speak with all of the proud nominees. He most recently received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2007 for his play Rabbit Hole, which also earned several Tony Award nominations. He also penned Kimberly Akimbo, Wonder of the World, Dotting and Dashing, Snow Angel, The L'il Plays, and A Devil Inside. His screenplays include Robots, Inkheart, and the screen adaptation of Rabbit Hole, which starred Nicole Kidman. He is the author of the books to the musicals High Fidelity and Shrek.

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE, the critically acclaimed new American play directed by Daniel Sullivan, plays through Sunday, May 29. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales. Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Eva Mendes and Jeremy Renner served as presenters and 2011 Spirit Awards host Joel McHale was also on hand. Nominees for Best Feature include 127 Hours, Black Swan, Greenberg, The Kids Are All Right and Winter's Bone.

Yesterday, September 13, David Lindsay-Abaire premiered the film adaptation of his Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, The Rabbit Hole during the 35th Toronto International Film Festival at the Elgin Theatre. The film stars Nicole Kidman, Diane Wiest, Aaron Eckhart, Tammy Blanchard, and Sandra Oh. The film was adapted by Lindsay-Abaire and directed by John Cameron Mitchell.

Haven Burton and two of the cast members from 'Shrek the Musical' performed 'I Know It's Today' on ABC7 in Chicago. Shrek the Musical plays through September 7 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago.

'Shrek' the 2010 broadway musical is preparing for a debut in Israel this August.
