Actor/Director Del Shores Hosts Benefit Performance for Family Equality Council Tonight, 10/29

Family Equality Council, the national organization that connects, supports and represents the one million parents who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) and their two million children, proudly announces a benefit performance of actor/director Del Shore's one-act play, The Assembly Line.

The star-studded performance of Assembly Line will take place tonight, October 29 at 7 p.m. at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center's Renberg Theatre and will be followed by VIP reception in the courtyard. Tickets are available at familyequality.org/assemblyline.

The Assembly Line is the story of a group of women from the Assembly of God faith who get together once a week to stuff envelopes for a southern evangelist preacher. Their normal routine is thrown into upheaval when one of the regulars is strangely absent and sends her housekeeper in her place. Through the course of training the replacement, it is revealed that the missing member of the assembly line has gone to Vermont to attend her gay son's wedding - her heart having changed with the birth of her son's twins.

Del Shores will donate the proceeds of the premiere performance to Family Equality Council. Shores hopes to launch a simultaneous performance of The Assembly Line at theatres nationwide in 2013 - all to benefit Family Equality Council.

The evening is hosted by Del Shores (Sordid Lives, Blues for Willadean, Southern Baptist Sissies) with an introduction by Beau Bridges (The Descendants, Sordid Lives, White Collar) and a special testimonial by Miss Coco Peru (Trick, Girls Will Be Girls). The women of The Assembly Line are Caroline Rhea (Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, Sordid Lives: The Series), RoseMary Alexander (Sordid Lives), Ann Walker (Sordid Lives), Susan Leslie (Sordid Lives: The Series, Madmen) and Dale Dickey (Winter's Bone, True Blood, Blues for Willadean). The evening will also include a gospel song from Rosemary and Newell Alexander (Sordid Lives, August: Osage County) and an uplifting, inspirational song from Top 5 Billboard Recording Artist Debby Holiday (Blues for Willadean).
