Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts has announced the initial set of performances scheduled for its highly anticipated 2013 summer season, the first under the supervision of Arvind Manocha, Wolf Trap's new President and CEO. The shows booked to date include 21 different acts and nearly 30 individual performances from a wide array of genres and art forms, including pop, rock, R&B, classical, comedy, musical theatre, films, and more. Performances will be held at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, D.C. metro area's top choice for affordable and easily accessible outdoor entertainment.

Summer shows at Wolf Trap make the perfect holiday gift for outdoor lovers and performing arts enthusiasts in the area, as well as for visitors and tourists. Individual and group tickets and gift certificates are now available for purchase.

Two Nights with Garrison Keillor Plus Dozens of Exhilarating Live Performances

The internationally renowned Filene Center will once again host some of the most celebrated acts in the entertainment industry. Famed radio personality Garrison Keillor returns as the season opener in two consecutive performances of A Prairie Home Companion with special guests.

Wolf Trap's summer programming will also include performances by the all-female Irish supergoup Celtic Woman; renowned comedian and actor Bill Cosby; Motown's harmonizing icons The Temptations and The Four Tops; youthful a cappella heroes Straight No Chaser; stars from the '50s and '60s in The Ultimate Doo-Wop Show; the extraordinary Aspen Santa Fe Ballet with a world premiere Wolf Trap commission; an HD showing of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, featuring an 81 piece orchestra and live choruses; and many more famed touring acts.

Audience favorites making their way back by popular demand are Wolf Trap's 24(th) Annual Louisiana Swamp Romp(TM); a revamped line-up of the HAPPY TOGETHER TOUR 2013; and the ultimate tribute band performance ABBA - The Concert.

NSO @ Wolf Trap: Classical Masterpieces, Films, Video Games, and More!

Emil de Cou returns as Festival Conductor to lead the critically acclaimed National Symphony Orchestra in yet another exciting season at the Filene Center, its summer home. NSO @ Wolf Trap performances booked to date include Video Games Live! with cutting-edge video screen visuals and symphonic arrangements of the games' soundtracks; classic and new cartoons in Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II; and a screening of the musical comedy favorite Singin' in the Rain, all featuring scores played with vivid and powerful detail by the NSO.Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture will be performed in concert alongside Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with piano prodigy Benjamin Grosvenor.

Musical Theatre Favorites and a Sing-A-Long!

The magic of musical theatre will take over the Filene Center stage to dazzle audiences of all ages. Adults will reminisce with acclaimed touring productions of BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story; Tony Award-winning songstress Jennifer Holliday starring in the Broadway-hit Dreamgirls; and the return of the classic rock/jukebox musical Rock of Ages. In addition, Wolf Trap will host Gilbert & Sullivan's popular comic operetta The Mikado, and the family favorite Sing-A-Long Sound of Music, featuring the re-mastered film on huge screens and a hilarious costume contest.

Wolf Trap is committed to the presentation of accessible and affordable arts experiences to the broadest possible audience.
