New YearÂ's Eve at the Kennedy Center Will Feature Cheyenne Jackson

The Kennedy Center will usher in the New Year with Broadway, film, and television star Cheyenne Jackson in New Year's Eve at the Kennedy Center: Cheyenne Jackson…Music of the Mad Men Era. NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke will conduct members of the National Symphony Orchestra on December 31, 2012 at 8:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall. Jackson will perform the suave styles and cool sounds of the '50s and '60s including catchy dance tunes, swinging lounge music, and bossa nova beats. The performance will be followed by the Grand Foyer Party complete with live music, dancing, and a balloon countdown to midnight, free for all Kennedy Center patrons with any December 31 evening performance ticket or Roof Terrace Restaurant receipt from that evening.

Multi-talented actor, singer, and songwriter Cheyenne Jackson is known for his work on the stage, as well as both the large and small screen. This fall, he will star on Broadway opposite Henry Winkler, Ari Graynor, and Alicia Silverstone in David West Read's new play The Performers. On and Off Broadway, he has starred in 8, Finian's Rainbow (Drama Desk nomination), Damn Yankees, Xanadu (Drama League, Drama Desk nominations), The Agony & the Agony, All Shook Up (Theater World Award, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle nomination), the premiere cast of Altar Boyz, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, On the 20th Century, and The 24 Hour Plays. He has appeared on television in 30 Rock, Glee, Family Practice, Life on Mars, Ugly Betty, It Takes a Village, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the PBS concert special From Dust to Dreams. His film credits include the 2006 Academy Award ® nominated United 93, as well as the upcoming 2013 films Mutual Friends, Lucky Stiff, and Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra. He has also performed for sold-out audiences at Carnegie Hall for The Power of Two in 2010 with Michael Feinstein and his solo debut concert with the New York Pops performance of Music of the Mad Men Era in 2011.

Steven Reineke's boundless enthusiasm and exceptional artistry have made him one of the nation's most sought-after pops conductors, composers, and arrangers. This is his second season as Principal Pops Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. Mr. Reineke is also the newly appointed Principal Pops Conductor of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall.
