STC Extends Run of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM Through 1/6

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award®, announces the extension of the Shakespearean classic A Midsummer Night's Dream. This fantastical production by director Ethan McSweeny, which celebrates the magic of theatre itself, will now play through Sunday, January 6, 2013  at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW).

Thursday, January 3, 2013                        8 p.m. Public Performance

Friday, January 4, 2013                              8 p.m. Public Performance

Saturday, January 5, 2013                         2 p.m., 8 p.m. Public Performances

Sunday, January 6, 2013                           2 p.m., 7:30 p.m. Public Performances

Mismatched lovers Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius and Helena flee to the forest outside Athens, but they run into a supernatural squabble that will alter their destinies forever. Will mischievous Puck create harmony or cacophony within the forest? Will Bottom and his Mechanicals put on a successful show for the Duke? Love, magic and wonder fill the air as dreams blend with reality in this must-see Shakespeare classic.

STC will also hold Family Week, a programming series of kid-friendly events in conjunction with the production, from December 11-16, 2012 in Sidney Harman Hall.
