ShenanArts Ntelos Theatre to Hold FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Auditions, 1/12 & 1/13

The ShenanArts Ntelos Theatre in Staunton will be holding auditions for their upcoming production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, on Saturday, January 12, 2013 and Sunday, January 13, 2013; 1:30 ? 5:30 p.m. Aaron Crosby will direct, with Beverley Crosby set to produce.

This beloved Broadway musical centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters ? each one's choice of husband moves further away from the customs of his faith ? and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village. Auditions begin at 1:30 p.m. Those attending should plan on staying for the duration of the auditions, possibly going to 5:30 p.m. each afternoon. If callbacks are necessary, that will be Sunday evening, January 13 at 6:30 p.m.

The theatre requests those auditioning to be prepared with any song from musical theatre, aside from Fiddler, showing off their vocal range and acting skills. Length: 16 bar ballad or 32 bar up tempo from a musical theatre piece. Those auditioning should be familiar with songs from Fiddler as well. Accompaniment will be provided. Readings will be from the script. Also bring a headshot and resume, and dress for movement.
