The Shakespeare Theatre Company's revival of Henry IV, Part 2 is a fine production filled with terrific acting and some wonderful ensemble moments. Nevertheless, that doesn't stop the play from failing to achieve the dramatic excellence of its prequel.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents Shakespeare's Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 as part of the Clarice Smith Repertory. STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn will direct both parts of this sweeping epic - one of Shakespeare's culminating achievements in the history play genre - over multiple nights. As Kahn says, describing Parts 1 and 2 as his favorite Shakespearean drama: 'It brings to the stage every issue we as human beings experience.' The two productions will run in the Company's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from today, March 25 - June 8, 2014.

WALLENSTEIN deserves to be considered a regular visitor to classical theatres throughout the world. Robert Pinsky's free adaptation of an 18th century epic is one more fabulous rediscovery of a near-forgotten classic to the company's production. The play is anchored by Steve Pickering's performance in the title role.

Artistic Director Michael Kahn and the Shakespeare Theatre Company announce casting for the title characters of The Hero/Traitor Repertory, the first in the Clarice Smith Repertory Series. STC Affiliated Artist Patrick Page will star in Coriolanus, running from March 28-June 2, 2013 and Steve Pickering will star in Wallenstein, running from March 29-May 31, 2013. Shakespeare's plays continue to shape the minds of aspiring stage stars. Thanks to the Houston Shakespeare Festival (HSF), young audiences have an opportunity to experience these works through performances at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

Houston-For nearly four decades, the Houston Shakespeare Festival (HSF) has dazzled audiences with professional productions of the Bard's masterpieces. Now, the popular summer festival will take Shakespeare buffs behind the curtain for an inside look at how these plays are produced. The HSF Backstage Pass is an educational program offering adult theatergoers an in-depth journey into the world of professional theater. Participants will meet the festival's professional acting company, directors, designers, dramaturgs and production teams. They also will observe how the shows are prepared, read and discuss plays with stage professionals, and of course, witness two of Shakespeare's greatest works, "Hamlet" and "The Comedy of Errors."

Produced by the University of Houston's School of Theatre & Dance, HSF continues to grow by offering more guest artists and additional opportunities to engage with the performances.
